Description:

The purpose of this assignment was to set up a web page for the course and become acquainted with POV-Ray. Below are a few simple images I created using POV-Ray. The top image is the result of me quickly realizing how boring spheres are and deciding to skip over all the simple shapes entirely and move on to a mesh. The top image is supposed to be a glass Stanford Bunny. I can't decide if it looks speckled because the vertex normals aren't specified, the light is refracting onto the floor, or there aren't enough samples.

I first downloaded the mesh in Open Inventor format from the Large Geometric Models Archive. Then I downloaded and compiled the program iv2pov from Hammer Visual Engineering to get a POV-Ray scene file.

Animation:

A short animation which turned out to be a big disappointment. It was supposed to be this super shiney gold bunny rotating around. If you have a high speed internet connection view it and you will see it isn't that exciting: bunny.mpg 477KB.
