Streamlines over the Indian Ocean
The side image is a screenshot of an Open Inventor program written to show streamlines over the Earth. In this particular example the area of concern is the Indian Ocean. The streamlines are overlayed and set with a slightly transparent material so the Earth can still be seen. The program animates a set number of streamline textures for the give area. The sequence of streamline textures were generated using Greg Turk and David Banks's Image-Guided Streamline Placement package.

An animation of the streamlines can be viewed here.
All code used to create the animation, plus my version of the streamline package, can be downloaded here -> hw13.tar.gz. Included in the file are modified versions of different components in the streamline package, as well as Perl scripts to automate the process (no textures).
