Light

Below are pictures to a light box I created based on the Cornell Box. The entire box was made out of...
  • piece of 22"x28" foam board
  • foam sphere
  • foam cube
  • 4 sheets of construction paper (varying colors)
  • aluminum foil
  • Packaging tape
  • glue
  • 6' extension cord
  • 7.5W light bulb
  • light bulb holder
  • dimming light switch
The box stands approximately 8"x8"x8" and is lined with aluminum foil to keep out as much light as possible. Each side of the box on the insided is lined with a different color (green, red, yellow, black, and white). Only five colors are listed because black is also used on the flaps of the open side of the box. The light source hangs from the middle of the red side and is powered by a standard 120V AC outlet. It is also equipped with a dimmer switch in order to see the effects of varying light intensities. Below is a picture of the box, an animation showing the light source gradually increasing its intensity, and if you have CosmoPlayer plug-in then you can view the the Cornell version of the box in 3D. The last picture is a screenshot of the box viewed through CosmoPlayer.
